The Wide Plank Family…Literally
It comes as no surprise that consumers love to deal with family organizations. From one family to another, it’s about tradition, integrity, authenticity that sets apart family business from Corporate America. Whilst my short time at Wide Plank Hardwood, I’ve noticed an interesting trend at the medium-sized plant from Chilliwack. To Hans and Karin Baer, family is everything!
From Fritz the wonder mutt, to the Baer kids working at the plant or hanging out after school, it is a welcome change to be surrounded with the warmth of family, and to be considered a part of it.
When clients visit our facility and showroom, they always receive a heart welcome, and can be rest assured that they will be given the royal treatment for the duration of the Wide Plank Hardwood experience.

I may have harped on this briefly in a previous newsletter, but feel obligated to remind of the virtues of what makes our floors unique. Wide Plank will never rush an order. A rushed order is a recipe for mistakes. A hand-built floor separates itself from all other products on the market and this is what sets us apart from all others. “We take the time, to make it fine” In a world that’s all about rushing through daily procedures to meet deadlines and commitments, it’s refreshing to see something develop from raw lumber blanks into a beautifully hand-crafted, finished product.
